Truths We Confess
We believe there is One Holy God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are One God.
Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30, 2 Corinthians 13:14
God the Father is the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens and the earth. He created us in His image and loves the world so much that He sent his Son so that we might eternally live with Him.
Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:27, John 3:16, Acts 17:28, Philippians 2:9-11
God the Son, who we know as Jesus, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross to redeem us, rose bodily from the dead, lives and reigns with the Father, and will return for His Church, The Community of All Believers.
John 10:33, Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:34-35, Hebrews 4:15; 7:26; John 2:11, 1 Corinthians 15:3...
God the Holy Spirit proceeded from the Father and the Son, as the source of empowerment and comfort for believers until He returns. He gives each believer the power to believe and gifts for our life in the Church.
Romans 8:13-14, Romans 12; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20; 1 Corinthians 12; 1 Corinthians 14; Ephesians 4:30; 5:18
We believe the Scriptures (commonly called the Bible, including the Old and New Testaments) are God’s Holy Word. Through these inspired writings, God gives us knowledge to know Him, the wisdom leading to salvation, and the authoritative standard for life, faith and practice.
2 Timothy 3:15- 17; 2 Peter 1:20-21, John 16:12-13
We believe that humanity, although made in the image of God as male and female, rebelled and through this sin of Adam is fallen and spiritually dead. This spiritual death, or total depravity of the human nature, has been transmitted to the entire human race (with the exception of Christ Jesus), and it is only through God’s Grace that we are brought to new life through faith in Jesus and His death and resurrection.
Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19; Mark 1:9-11; John 4:24, Acts 13:39, Romans 5:1, Ephesians 2: 8-10, 1 John 5:11-12
We believe the church, as the body and pure bride of Christ, was created to give glory and honor to God, proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ, nurture and build up believers, administer the sacraments, and, as Christ’s representatives on this earth, to be a blessing to and serve our neighbors in the world.
Luke 10:25-37, Eph 1:22, 23; 2:10, 5:25; 1 Cor 12:12; 2 Cor 11:2
